  • California ranked 2nd in Commercial CO2 Emissions by emitting 13.9 Million Metric Tons of Carbon Dioxide in 2005. The average for all states was 4.4 Million Metric Tons of Carbon Dioxide emitted from the Commercial sector.


  • California ranked 21st in ElectricPower CO2 Emissions by emitting 42.1 Million Metric Tons of Carbon Dioxide in 2005. The average for all states was 46.8 Million Metric Tons of Carbon Dioxide emitted from the ElectricPower sector.


  • California ranked 2nd in Residential CO2 Emissions by emitting 28.2 Million Metric Tons of Carbon Dioxide in 2005. The average for all states was 7.2 Million Metric Tons of Carbon Dioxide emitted from the Residential sector.


  • California ranked 3rd in Industrial CO2 Emissions by emitting 76.9 Million Metric Tons of Carbon Dioxide in 2005. The average for all states was 19.5 Million Metric Tons of Carbon Dioxide emitted from the Industrial sector.


  • California ranked 1st in Transportation CO2 Emissions by emitting 234.4 Million Metric Tons of Carbon Dioxide in 2005. The average for all states was 39.4 Million Metric Tons of Carbon Dioxide emitted from the Transportation sector.
