  • New York ranked 31st in Pasture Land Usage by using 1,359,000 acres of land in 2005. The average for all states for Pasture Land Usage was 11,500,000 acres.


  • New York ranked 18th in Forest Land Usage by using 15,389,000 acres of land in 2005. The average for all states for Forest Land Usage was 12,768,000 acres.


  • New York ranked 15th in Special Land Usage by using 3,971,000 acres of land in 2005. The average for all states for Special Land Usage was 5,820,000 acres.


  • New York ranked 6th in Urban Land Usage by using 2,535,000 acres of land in 2005. The average for all states for Urban Land Usage was 1,168,000 acres.
