WASHINGTON, DC - "Today we mourn the death of U.S. Representative Charlie Norwood - a great man and tireless defender of his constituents in Georgia's Tenth Congressional District. Charlie fought valiantly to overcome extensive health problems and he did so with grace and tenacity. During my time in Washington, I have met few people with the conviction and dedication of this long time public servant, veteran, father, grandfather - this Gentleman from Georgia.
"Charlie will be specifically remembered for his vigorous advocacy on behalf of DOE's Savannah River Location and the Mixed Oxide Plan (MOX). This legacy will serve as an enduring reminder of his commitment to the people of Georgia. I send my condolences to Gloria, his wife of 42 years, his 2 sons, and 4 grandchildren."
