Inhofe Votes to Override President Obama's Veto on Keystone XL

WASHINGTON, DC - U.S. Senator Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), Chairman of the Environment and Public Works Committee, voted in favor of overriding the veto message from President Obama on S.1, legislation to approve the Keystone XL pipeline. The Senate failed to override the president's veto of the Keystone XL bill in a vote 62 - 37.

"I proudly voted in favor of overriding the president's veto of approving the Keystone XL pipeline, a bill long overdue that would create over an estimated 42,000 well-paying American jobs. There are too many Americans in search of work and the need for energy security is too great to let the Keystone XL pipeline fade away. The fight for the Keystone XL pipeline is not over. I look forward to working with my colleagues in the Senate to ensure a cross-border permit is granted, and this plan sees the light of day."
