Inhofe Praises the Senate Passage of 3 Courthouse Naming Bills
WASHINGTON, DC - U.S. Senator Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works (EPW), today praised the passage of 3 courthouse naming bills in the U.S. Senate, 2 of which were reported out of the Senate E.P.W. Committee in April.
"I am pleased with the bipartisan support and passage of these 3 bills, 2 of which are from the Environment and Public Works Committee. S. 261 recognizes Judge Holloway, a World War II veteran born in my home state of Oklahoma, who faithfully served as a federal judge for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th circuit. The longest serving judge on the 10th circuit, Judge Holloway authored over 900 opinions and was a graduate from the University of Oklahoma and Harvard University. I was pleased to offer S. 261 at the request of all the judges in the Western District and our 2 Oklahomans serving on the tenth Circuit Court of Appeals," Inhofe said.
The bills passed by unanimous consent Thursday evening, and are as follows:
S. 261, a bill designating the U.S. courthouse located at 200 NW fourth Street in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, as the William J. Holloway, Jr. U.S. Courthouse.
S. 612, a bill designating the federal building and U.S. courthouse located at 1300 Victoria Street in Laredo, Texas, as the "George P. Kazen Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse."
H.R. 1690, a bill designating the U.S. courthouse located at 700 Grant Street in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, as the "Joseph F. Weis Jr. U.S. Courthouse."
