Inhofe Praises Boozman, Manchin Bill to Enhance Transparency, Fairness in E.P.A. Science Review Process
WASHINGTON, DC - Today, U.S. Senator Jim Inhofe (R-OKla.), chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, released a statement in support of U.S. Sens. John Boozman (R-Ark.) and Joe Manchin (D-W.V.) in introducing legislation to Enhance transparency and fairness in the E.P.A.'s (EPA) science advisory process:
"The Science Advisory Board (SAB) plays a critical role in advising the E.P.A. on technical and scientific matters that serve as a basis for regulation. For too long E.P.A. has undermined the independence of the SAB. I applaud Sens. Boozman and Manchin for introducing the bipartisan Science Advisory Board Reform Act, which restores the true function of the SAB while providing much needed fairness and public participation to the process."
