Washington, DC - U.S. Senator Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), chairman of the U.S. Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, released the following statement on the announcement of U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) retiring at the end of her term in 2016:
"Sen. Barbara Boxer and I have served in Congress for 28 years together, and it has been a memorable tenure filled with historic accomplishments. While Senator Boxer and I differ on most issues, we share a deep and mutual respect that has paved the way for true bipartisan efforts in passing vital infrastructure legislation. With 2 more years ahead of us, I look forward to working with Senator Boxer again on a transportation reauthorization bill, and will miss her when it comes time for her next chapter following 2016."
