WEDNESDAY: E.P.A. and State of Georgia to Recognize $8.5 Million Recovery Act Wastewater Infrastructure Plan in Lula, Georgia

(ATLANTA - Feb. 16, 2010) On the year anniversary of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), the E.P.A. (EPA) and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources will join the Georgia Environmental Facilities Authority (GEFA) to recognize an $8.5 million plan funded through the ARRA in Lula, Ga. The wastewater infrastructure plan is helping create green jobs, boost the local economy, enhance aging water infrastructure and protect human health and the environment.

President Obama signed the ARRA on Feb. 17, 2009, and has directed that the Recovery Act be implemented with unprecedented transparency and accountability. To that end, the American people can see how every dollar is being invested at Recovery.gov.

Directions from Hwy. 365 North, turn left onto Hwy. 52/Lula Road, go approximately 7/10 of a mile and turn right onto Magnolia Station Drive and follow the signs.
