WASHINGTON - E.P.A. Administrator Lisa P. Jackson will join Ohio 1st Lady Frances Strickland and other Ohio officials for an American Recovery and Reinvestment Act announcement in Columbus on Thursday, February 18 - the day after the one-year anniversary of the signing of the recovery act.
Ohio has spent in excess of $5.4 billion in recovery act funds, saving or creating 79,000 jobs in 2009. In excess of 4.5 million working families in Ohio will also gain a total of $2.2 billion in tax relief.
The State of Ohio leads the nation in the number of water plans funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. These plans have created and saved jobs while improving water quality and infrastructure across the state.
