No. 11-OPA-023

(CHICAGO - March 21, 2011)

WHAT: Public hearing on the E.P.A.'s objection to a wastewater discharge permit for Dayton Power & Light J.M. Stuart Station.

WHEN: Wednesday, March 23. Informational meeting and availability session will be at 6:30 p.m. Public hearing will follow at 7:30 p.m.

WHERE: Reading Room, Southern Hills Career & Technical Center, 9193 Hamer Road, Georgetown, Ohio.

BACKGROUND: U.S. E.P.A. objected to the suggested wastewater permit that Ohio E.P.A. issued for the J.M. Stuart power plant because the record does not demonstrate that temperature limits in the permit would adequately protect aquatic life in Little Threemile Creek.

U.S. E.P.A. will accept public review on the objection until April 7. Comments should be addressed to Sean Ramach, Water Division (WN-16J), US E.P.A. Region 5, 77 W. Jackson Blvd., Chicago, IL 60604-3590 or [email protected].

For questions and additional information call Sean Ramach, 312-886-5284, or the E.P.A. toll-free line at 800-621-8431, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., weekdays.
