ATLANTA - On Monday, in celebration of the 18
th yearly America Recycles Day, E.P.A. Assistant Administrator for the Office of Solid Waste and Emergency Response, Mathy Stanislaus, and E.P.A. Region four Regional Administrator, Heather McTeer Toney, along with state officials, the recycling sector and manufacturers will highlight the economic benefits of recycling to supply the manufacturing sector with materials they need while creating jobs.
The press conference will occur at the Food Recovery Summit, a joint effort of EPA, NC, South Carolina and the Southeast Recycling Development Council (SERDC) to bring together leaders from across the U.S. to project initial steps towards the country's action project to meet the recently announced, nation-wide goal to reduce food loss and waste by 50 percent by 2030.
WHAT: Discussion on the importance of recycling to the supply chain. Additionally, E.P.A. will declare preliminary results of its analysis on job creation in the recycling sector.
