E.P.A. DECLARES THE AVAILABILITY OF THE REMOVAL ADMINISTRATIVE RECORD FOR THE HUFF BATTERY SALVAGE SITE, BOWMAN, SOUTH CAROLINA

The E.P.A. announced today that the Administrative Record for the Huff Battery Salvage Location in Bowman, Orangeburg County, South Carolina is accessible for public review.
The Administrative Record file includes documents that form the basis for selection of the removal action. Documents in the record may include but are not limited to preliminary assessment and inspection reports, test results, and the Action Memorandum. All interested persons are encouraged to review and review on the documents.
The documents will be accessible for public review during normal business hours at the following locations:

E.P.A. will accept comments regarding the Administrative Record during the public review period which begins on November 5, 2002 and ends on December 5, 2002. Comments should be addressed to Kevin Misenheimer, Federal On-Scene Coordinator, U.S. E.P.A. Region 4, ERRB, eleventh Floor, 61 Forsyth Street, S.W., Atlanta, Georgia 30303-3104. At the end of the 30-day review period, a written response to all pertinent comments will be prepared in a responsiveness summary and placed in the file.
The Huff Battery Salvage Location is the location of a former lead-acid battery cracking operation and lead recovery process. The Location is a privately owned property located in a rural portion of Orangeburg County, South Carolina, off of Frontage Road, west of I-26 near the town of Bowman.
