(INDIANAPOLIS - April 5, 2010) E.P.A. Region five participated in a coordinated effort to assist local hotels and restaurants with recycling during the 2010 Men's Final 4 R basketball tournament last weekend in Indianapolis.
E.P.A. staff, in partnership with the Indiana Recycling Coalition, the Indiana Sports Corporation, the Indianapolis Department of Public Works, August Mack Environmental, Coca-Cola Recycling, Waste Management, Republic Waste Services, Ray's Trash Service, Strategic Materials, Southern Trash & Recycling, and Indiana Recycled Fibers, worked directly with select hotels and restaurants to enhance recycling.
Following the games, a report will detail the success of the hotel and restaurant recycling effort. In addition, E.P.A. will calculate the environmental benefits from an electronics collection drive involving volunteers from the Local Organizing Committee.
