Top Energy Official on Capitol Hill to Highlight Nuclear Energy

WASHINGTON, DC - Today, Wednesday, December 12, 2007, D.O.E. (DOE) Assistant Secretary for Nuclear Energy Dennis Spurgeon will participate in the House Energy Action Team (HEAT) forum to discuss the importance of incorporating more nuclear power into our nation's energy mix. This is part of the Bush Administration's comprehensive effort to promote greater energy and economic security. Specifically, Assistant Secretary Spurgeon will highlight GNEP, a voluntary partnership, which aims to safely and securely expand nuclear power worldwide while responsibly managing nuclear waste and reducing proliferation risks.
