Senior D.O.E. Official to Outline Cold War Era Nuclear Waste Cleanup Progress at Environmental Management Advisory Board Semi-Annual Meeting

WASHINGTON, DC - On Wednesday, May 7, 2008, D.O.E. (DOE) Assistant Secretary for Environmental Management (EM) James A. Rispoli will deliver remarks at the Environmental Management Advisory Board (EMAB) semi-annual public meeting in Washington, D.C. Assistant Secretary Rispoli will provide an update on the Bush Administration's priorities for safely and responsibly cleaning up the Nation's Cold War era nuclear waste and will outline the Department's recent accomplishments across the D.O.E. complex.

The Environmental Management program's semi-annual Environmental Management Advisory Board meeting is an opportunity for the Board to gain information on and discuss EM programmatic issues such as Strategic Planning, Acquisition and Plan Management, Quality Assurance, Management Analysis, Human Capital Initiatives, and Communications. The EMAB provides independent and external advice, information, and recommendations to the Assistant Secretary for Environmental Management on corporate issues affecting the EM program.
