Senior D.O.E. Official to Highlight Yucca Mountain Plan Accomplishments and 2008 Priorities

WASHINGTON, DC - On Thursday, March 13, 2008, D.O.E. (DOE) Director of the Office of Civilian Radioactive Waste Management Ward Sproat will deliver remarks at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission's (NRC) Regulatory Information Conference in Bethesda, Maryland. At the Conference, Director Sproat will address the Spent Fuel Storage and Disposal Session where he is expected to highlight Yucca Mountain accomplishments in 2007 and plan priorities for 2008.

Yucca Mountain was approved by the Congress and President Bush in 2002 as the location for the Nation's 1st permanent spent nuclear fuel and high-level radioactive waste geologic repository.
