Senior D.O.E. Official to Highlight Departmental Efforts to Clean Up the Nation's Nuclear Weapons Complex

WASHINGTON, DC - On Friday, February 22, 2008, D.O.E. (DOE) Assistant Secretary for Environmental Management Jim Rispoli will deliver remarks at the Energy Communities Alliance (ECA) Yearly Conference in Washington, DC. Assistant Secretary Rispoli is expected to discuss the Department's Fiscal Year 2009 budget request for environmental management as well as priorities for safely and responsibly cleaning up the Nation's Cold War era nuclear waste.

The ECA Yearly Conference provides an Yearly forum for local governments and federal officials to share their perspectives on DOE-related activities. The Office of Enviromental Management has more information on DOE's efforts to reduce risk and cleanup the environmental legacy of the Nation's nuclear weapons program.
