Maritime law enforcement and 1st responder leaders will discuss the Department of Homeland Security's small vessel exercise held this week on Puget Sound. Spokespeople with the U.S. Coast Guard, FBI and DHS, as well as many other agencies, will review activities conducted during this West Coast Maritime Pilot demonstration.
Who: Media are invited to attend presentation and demonstration activities.
What: Representatives of participating agencies will discuss the exercise and how it was designed to develop and enhance maritime preventive radiological and nuclear detection and response capabilities.
Demonstrations of several detection systems will be given on the dock and on law enforcement boats.
When: 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 24, 2009
