E.P.A. to Evaluate 22 Previously Cleaned Superfund Sites

DALLAS - (Dec. 2, 2014) The E.P.A. (EPA) will conduct five-year reviews at 22 sites to ensure that cleanup of each location continues to protect public health and the environment. The reviews also identify any deficiencies and present recommendations to address them. In conducting the five-year review, E.P.A. will interview local citizens, and review location operations, maintenance and monitoring information.

Five-year reviews are required by law under Superfund and provides the public with an opportunity to evaluate preliminary findings and provide input on any potential follow up activities that may be required after the review process.
