ATLANTA - The E.P.A. (EPA) along with the Agency for Toxics Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) will host a public meeting on August 20, 2015 at the Bethel Baptist Church on 3200 28th Avenue North, Birmingham, Alabama to provide an update on the 35th Avenue Superfund Site.
E.P.A. and ATSDR officials will give an overview of activities from 6-7 p.m. and hold an availability session from 7-8 p.m. to address one-on-one community concerns.

The ATSDR officials will address the "Evaluation of Surface Soil and Garden Produce Exposures for the 35th Avenue Superfund Site" report. ATSDR officials are also asking residents of the 35th Avenue Location to read the report and to provide comments, if interested, to ATSDR by August 31, 2015. The full report can be found at:

E.P.A. is currently seeking to sample an additional 850 properties in the Superfund Location area and encourages residents who have recently received authorization forms to return their completed authorization forms by mail or in person at the U.S. E.P.A. Community Outreach Office located at 1820 Seventh Avenue North, Suite 100, Birmingham, Alabama 35203.
Community members are also encouraged to call (205) 326-8640 or come into the Outreach Office to obtain further information. Office hours are 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday.

ATTENTION: A media availability session will be held in the Bethel Baptist Church Fellowship Hall from 5:30 to 5:45 p.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2015. This arrangement will allow for the public to use the entire public meeting to get information and have their questions answered.
