E.P.A. Holds National Sustainable Design Expo

WASHINGTON, DC - E.P.A. (EPA) Deputy Administrator Stan Meiburg will open the 11th Yearly National Sustainable Design Expo Saturday morning in Alexandria, Va. The expo will host student teams from colleges and universities across the country who exhibit sustainable plans and compete for EPA's People, Prosperity and the Planet (P3) Award.
The expo will feature over 40 university and college teams competing in Phase II of EPA's P3 student-design competition. The competition supports innovation in technology and gives students the platform to explore sustainable solutions. Plans include a green roof to reduce runoff and a new cost-effective smart window technology that combines a solar concentrator with wireless electronics to produce power.
