E.P.A. Acknowledges State Street as a Top Green Power Partner

BOSTON - State Street Corp., based in Boston, was acknowledged by E.P.A. as one of the nation's top 100 purchasers of Green Power.

As part of EPA's Green Power Partnership, in excess of 1,300 organizations are purchasing billions of kilowatt-hours of green power annually, avoiding carbon pollution equal to that created by the electricity use of in excess of 2.5 million American homes.

In 2014, State Street increased its commitment to using renewable energy by acquiring in excess of 211 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of Green-e certified renewable energy certificates (RECs). This purchase represents 100 percent of State Street's purchased electricity use for its U.S. real estate portfolio based on the previous year's consumption. State Street's green power purchase has helped establish the corporation as a leader among financial services companies in the U.S., and further demonstrates its commitment to sustainability to stakeholders.

State Street continues to help lead market development with its 7th consecutive year of renewable energy purchases and 4th consecutive year of increasing purchases of renewable energy certificates. State Street has been a Green Power Partner since 2007.
