City of Jacksonville, Pollack Shores, Regency Centers, NAI Hallmark Partners and Mt. Sinai Missionary Holiness Church to Gain E.P.A. Region 4’s “Excellence in Location Reuse” Award

ATLANTA - The E.P.A. (EPA) will present the Region four "Excellence in Location Reuse" award to the City of Jacksonville, Pollack Shores Real Estate Group, Regency Centers, NAI Hallmark Partners and the Mt. Sinai Missionary Holiness Church for redeveloping portions of the Jacksonville Ash and Brown's Dump Superfund sites in Jacksonville, Fla. on December 1, 2015 at 9:30 am. The ceremony will be held at the MaliVai Washington Youth Tennis Center located at 1096 W. six^th Street, Jacksonville, Fla.

Dr. R.M Addo, Pollack Shores Real Estate Group, Regency Centers and NAI Hallmark Partners worked cooperatively with the City of Jacksonville to return portions of the Jacksonville Ash and Brown's Dump Superfund sites to productive use as a community based community center/church, residential/retail developments and a non-profit urban park/amphitheater. The City owned properties were restored to house the City Animal Care and Protective Services and The MaliVai Washington Youth Tennis Center.

By reclaiming, restoring and reinventing the Jacksonville Ash and Brown's Dump sites, these plans illustrate how the reuse of Superfund sites can protect human health, advance environmental protection and return formerly unusable properties into valuable community assets.

E.P.A. Region four created the "Excellence in Location Reuse" award to recognize those who have made outstanding efforts to reuse a Superfund Location through cooperative efforts with EPA. Selected recipients have gone above and beyond to ensure sites are reused in a manner compatible with Location remedies and that makes sites' beneficial use possible for many years to come. The City of Jacksonville, Pollack Shores Real Estate Group, Regency Centers and NAI Hallmark Partners and Dr. R.M. Addo of the Mt. Sinai Missionary Holiness Church are being acknowledged for their commitment to sustainably reusing the sites that are undergoing cleanup by the City of Jacksonville with oversight by the E.P.A. and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP).
