University of California at Riverside (UCR) is contracting with SunPower to construct and maintain a 10.92-acre solar installation. The solar installation is expected to be operational by July 2014 and will supply three MW of renewable energy to campus. UCR projects to purchase the electricity from SunPower, which is estimated to result in $4.3 million in electricity savings over the course of the 20-year contract.
