Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSEG) has recently announced that it is partnering with the NFL Environmental Plan to provide green power for Super Bowl XLVIII. PSEG will purchase and retire enough renewable energy certificates (RECs) to match every megawatt-hour (MWh) of electricity used to power the event. The total electricity to be offset by PSEG's donations will include electricity used to power Met Life Stadium, both team's hotels, and the public event in Times Square known as Super Bowl Boulevard. The RECs are being purchased locally from New Jersey generators including PSE&G's Kearny Solar Farm and from Community Energy Inc., a certified
