(Anchorage, Alaska - February 8, 2016) Today, U.S. E.P.A. Region ten Administrator Dennis McLerran will give a keynote address opening the 2016 Alaska Forum on the Environment, in Anchorage, focusing on EPA's work in rural Alaska and ongoing federal commitments highlighted by last year's GLACIER conference and President Obama's visit to Alaska. Administrator McLerran will talk about EPA's strong federal-state partnerships, successes, and ongoing efforts to address environmental and health challenges in Alaska rural villages.

Administrator McLerran will speak at 9:00 am Alaska Time, followed by remarks by Alaska Lt. Governor Byron Mallot.

Following the keynote, Administrator McLerran will be accessible for media interviews from 10:15 am to 11:00 am Alaska Time.
