The Green Schools Alliance (GSA), a peer-to-peer network of over 3,000 schools in 42 U.S. states and 35 countries who work to address climate and conservation challenges in the 21st century, has partnered with
Sterling Planet, a retail renewable energy provider, to deliver green power to the Green Schools Renewable Energy Purchasing Consortium. Since 2013, the consortium has invited schools to collectively purchase renewable energy certificates (RECs) for their facilities, earn national recognition from EPA's Green Power Partnership (GPP) and encourage renewable energy use within the educational community. To date, schools are planning to purchase approximately 15,000 MWh of renewable energy.
