Wexford Labs, Inc., of Kirkwood, Mo., Selected as E.P.A. Safer Choice Partner of the Year

(Lenexa, Kan., June 10, 2015) - Wexford Labs, Inc., of Kirkwood, Mo., is being acknowledged as one of 21 Safer Choice Partners of the Year by the E.P.A. (EPA). The 21 winners across 15 states have been singled out for outstanding achievement in the design, manufacture, promotion, and use of Safer Choice products for the nation's homes, schools, and businesses.

Wexford Labs was one of 6 awardees in the in the Formulator-Manufacturer category. Safer Choice acknowledged Wexford Labs for its innovations in disinfectants and healthcare products. The company manufactures and distributes environmentally friendly cleaners and disinfectants.

To qualify for the Safer Choice (formerly "Design for the Environment") label, a product must meet EPA's Safer Choice Standard, which includes stringent human and environmental health criteria. The Safer Choice Plan currently has nearly 500 formulator-manufacturer partners who make in excess of 2,000 products for both retail and institutional customers.

Wexford Labs formulated the 1st hospital-grade, Safer Choice-labeled product as part of EPA's pilot Plan on antimicrobial products. The company has also promoted the Safer Choice Plan to the healthcare industry.

The 2015 Safer Choice Partner of the Year Awards will be formally presented at 2:00 p.m., June 22, 2015, at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, D.C.
