This arrangement will be seen as a historic moment, a time when the world came together, turned the corner and decided we would put words into action and embrace one of our greatest challenges, combating the threat of climate change.
I thank President Obama for his leadership on this issue. I could not be prouder of all of the staff, business leaders, public health officials and stakeholders who have been so determined to raise awareness and put solutions on the table to make this defining moment happen.
This arrangement gives hope to families in the U.S and around the world that we are doing everything we can to leave a safer and healthier world for our kids and future generations. E.P.A. will work tirelessly to share our expertise in defense of public health and the environment as we work together to implement this agreement.
Today, we are unequivocally sending market signals that are spurring U.S. action, and unleashing businesses to think creatively and seize this opportunity to lead the world in developing a clean energy economy.
