Category: AirType: News Source: EPA Date: Monday, November 2nd, 2015
(Seattle - April 6, 2016) The E.P.A.'s Pacific Northwest Region completed 22 environmental compliance and enforcement actions in Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington from October 1, 2015 through December 31, 2015.
Violations of environmental laws put public health and the environment at risk. E.P.A. enforces federal environmental laws to protect communities and to keep our air, water and lands healthy. These compliance and enforcement efforts also level the playing field by deterring violators who might otherwise have an unfair business advantage over environmentally compliant facilities and businesses.
E.P.A. Region ten completed the following environmental enforcement actions from October through December 2015:

Check to see if your refrigerator is airtight by closing the refrigerator door on a piece of paper or a dollar bill so that the paper or bill is half in and half out. If you can pull the paper out easily, your refrigerator is leaking air and losing energy, and the door seal may need to be replaced.
