(ATLANTA - May 27, 2010) The E.P.A. will hold 2 public meetings to discuss the Port of Huntington Tri-State Geographic Collaborative - an initiative that addresses the importance of environmental compliance for the area's land, air and water resources.

To make sure citizens in the communities surrounding the Port area have an opportunity to review on the collaborative goals and the overall strategies, E.P.A. will host 2 public meetings:

seven p.m., June 1, 2010 - Tuesday
Marshall University Memorial Student Center
5th Avenue
Marshall University, Huntington, WVa

seven p.m., June 2, 2010 - Wednesday
Wilson University Student Union
West Virginia State University
Institute, WVa.

The Port Collaborative project includes assessing the environmental impacts of the Port operations on the surrounding communities, reducing the amount of pollution being released into the environment, and building community skills to help ensure the long-term protection of the environment and public health.
